Google Features Picasa Link On Homepage For Some

Quickly following up to their purchase of digital photograph software company Picasa, Google has introduced a link on their homepage inviting visitors to download the software for free. That is, the ad/link is appearing for some.

In our office, Brittany actually saw the link on Google's homepage and managed to secure a screenshot (see above). Judging from the text that accompanies the link, Google is presenting Picasa as a digital image search tool that will "Organize and find pictures on your PC."
Once downloaded, Picasa gives you the ability to:

  • Auto-transfer photos from your digital camera.

  • Organize and find pictures in seconds.

  • Edit, print, and share photos with ease.

  • Create slideshows, order prints and more.
